Dark Chocolate Malt - Viking
The Viking Dark Chocolate Malt is produced by roasting from pilsner malt. Final temperature and roasting time is somewhat lower compared to Black (Patent) Malt. The Dark Chocolate Malt flavor is burnt, bitter, and smokey, but not as intense as the Black (Patent) Malt. The aroma and taste is similar to coffee and chocolate to balance the overall taste. The Dark Chocolate Malt is primarily used in Porters and Stouts, but can also be used in other dark beers due to its coloring value.
